Our Beliefs:

 

  • Student learning is the priority for our school
    • Early childhood education and early intervention are fundamental to academic success.
    • All students can learn and will have the opportunity to learn.
    • The school environment will be safe and conducive for learning and for teaching.
    • The school will embrace technology as a tool for teaching and learning.

 

  • Students learn in different ways and should be provided with a variety of instructional strategies to promote optimal learning.
    • Children who are actively involved in learning are more successful.
    • The teacher / student bond must be strong in order for optimal learning.
    • The basic needs of safety and love must be met in order for the learning process to occur.

 

  • Teacher, staff, administrators, parents, students, and community have the joint responsibility for supporting and advancing the school’s mission.
    • Our school is a community of learners where learning is an active, exciting, lifelong process.
    • Effective learning takes place when teachers, parents, and community work in a collaborative effort.
    • Students must see adults model the concept of being life-long learners, life-long readers, life-long writers, and life-long users of technology.

  • Clear goals and challenging expectations promote the highest level of achievement.
    • Effective and relevant learning includes a positive atmosphere and varied learning strategies.
    • Effective and relevant learning must include clear and challenging goals for all students regardless of gender, race, socio-economic status, etc.
    • RESULTS teams promote the highest level of learning by implementing Lexington II’s SMART Goals process.

 

  • Assessments of student learning should provide a variety of opportunities to demonstrate individual growth.
    • Assessment of student learning is an on-going, comprehensive, multi-faceted process.
    • The analysis of assessment is critical in using assessment to impact teaching and student learning.

 

  • The commitment to continuous improvement is imperative if our school is going to enable students to become confident, self-directed lifelong learners.
    • Teachers must embrace change and take risks in meeting the diversified needs of all students.
    • Springdale will continuously research best practices and implement the latest technology as we prepare our students for success in the 21st century.
